Mackenzie got a 3 point major!

On October 21, 2007, Mackenzie won her puppy class (6-9 months), Winner's Bitch, and went on to get Best of Winner for a 3 point major!! What is amazing is that this was both my first show and her first show! We are unbelievably happy and excited! I was told that I might have a hard time with her because of a few things like the fact that she is white, that her eyes are light, etc. But I plugged on anyway, because I think she is beautiful, and look at it - a highly respected judge thought she was awesome, too! I hope this was not a fluke, but could it really be a "fluke" to get Winner's Bitch? One thing is for sure - it sure has energized me. I completely understand how awesome this was for her to win our first time out. I know that many people go quite a long time before getting a major, so I am not taking it lightly. I realize the honor that it is. So I want to thank the judge Mr. William E. Usherwood, my handling class instructor Phyllis J. Scalf, the other whippet owners here in Phoenix who helped me along the way and at the show. At the show, I literally did not know what to do after we won the first puppy class - thank goodness they were there to send me back in when I needed to go! Thanks Julie and Monica! In addition, I want to thank Mackenzie's breeders James & Anne Anders from Betteryet Whippets in Hillsboro, NM for entrusting this wonderful girl to our care. She is the most gentle soul we have ever owned in a dog. We could not love her more, whether she wins or loses! But look at her go - she won!! Yay, Mackenzie!
